Economic growth in this country is negatively correlated with the price of oil. It is a net drain on the economy because we have to send dollars out of the country to buy it. This is easy to understand, and I posted a link to some easy to understand research that models this. Either you can't grasp a simple concept or you are being purposefully dense.
