Going from the extreme of saying that saturated fats are the root of all evil to the other extreme where they say that they are completely beneficial is too big a step for me.

I agree. Why look for trouble? Right now, I am eating Veggies, Oatmeal, and chicken. I will weigh in Monday, and don't expect much of a drop, if any. My main concern is choosing a new way of eating that I can live with long term, and then finding the right amount of it to eat now to lose weight. I believe the secret to keeping the weight off is changing food habits, not dieting.

Davis is really big on RAW almonds. I dislike the texture and taste too much to find them attractive as a snack. Smoke house almonds are just to hard to chew for me. So I will stick to the on-hand cashews for now. I like Walnuts in my oatmeal, but don't know about them as a snack. When the cashews get low, I will buy some walnuts and if I don't like them as a snack item, I can always add them to my oatmeal.
