I caught bits and pieces, including Jay's recent videos, but am presently much too busy professionally to devote any time to the Games. Or to anything resembling leisure, for that matter.

Last time I saw an entire ceremony was when the Games were in Barcelona. I thought lighting the fire with an arrow shot was wonderful.

I am more interested in this magnificent three-dimensional chess game called the Caucasus.

I cannot begin to understand why Georgia started a fight it cannot win. Perhaps it thinks it can be rescued because of the importance of the pipelines.

But that is Europe's problem, as far as I am concerned.

Still, not a good thing to allow the Mafiothugocracy Putin heads to be in charge of this vital area.

Will be interesting to see how the godless Muslim-repressing Chinese and Russians fit in the same bed with the zealot Iranians.

I see a lot of fun, mostly for the pusillanimous Euros, headed our way.
