tim i checked some quotes for ohio .... for around 3000 $ a year per family of 4 there was a very large deduction starting at 15OO and fees for visits for healthy non smokers.

i dont know the exact mechanics but there would not be many payments made except for major problems.

thats not much help for the middle class.

happily i have no US insurance experience...perhaps others might chip in theirs, including deductables and exisiting health conditions...diabeties,obesity,smoking....ect
