Star Resources efforts
recover diamonds

HOUSTON, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Star Resources Corp said
Friday it has completed a 100-ton deep excavation sample
on its American Mine property near Murfreesboro,
Arkansas, recovering 51 diamonds greater than one
milimeter in size with a total weight of 9.591 carats.
It said two stones were greater than one carat in size with
the largest being 1.45 carats.
The open pit was excavated on the American Mine
property to make contact with the horizontal fault bound
block of welded olivine lamproite lapilli layer that was
identified in vertical drill core 93-08 at 55 feet. The 100
tons of ore was removed from a contiguous layer between
62 and 70 foot depth. 51 diamonds is 9.591 carats.
The results and the diamonds will be evaluated to
determine future exploration activity, the company said.
It noted the American Mine is solely leased to Star
Resources and is not connected to the Crater of Diamonds
project in Arkansas.
