" If we had started 10 years ago ANWR would be in production by now. Who knows where oil prices would be if that had happened."

Yeah, I think we do.... Bush, in a recent news conference, said that ANWR would be producing about 670,000 barrels a day. But when he was asked about diverting the purchases of 67,000 (just a coincidence) barrels a day from the Strategic Reserve, he just that would have an effect 0.3% on the world market.... Soooo, 0.3% is not significant but 3% is....

You sound like an honestly concerned person so I'm wondering if you've ever seen or heard that the US production of crude peaked in 1972 and has been falling almost linearly for the 40 years...despite lot's of drilling. In 1950, a fellow named Hubbert developed a mathematical model which predicted the US would reach peak production in 20 years......he was right on, only missing it by 2 years. The model is predicated on the depletion of the limited amount of crude deposits within our boundries.... I hope you don't take the position that the only reason our production is dropping is because we aren't drilling enough.

No one is opposed to drilling, but I am amazed at how many people have been stampeded to cry drill, drill, drill as a result of politics...

Now, who told you we could drill and bring in new oil supplies rather easily??? Do you accept that we have limited supplies and the world has limited supplies...
