You know, I had every intention of more or less ignoring the Olympics this year for a number of reasons. The first being that I knew it would turn into a showcase for communism. The second was that IMO the worlds athletes would be at a large disadvantage trying to perform in an atmosphere of intense industrial polution no matter how many factories the Chinese shut down.... As it happened, a next door neighbor called gushing with amazement (in a good way) over the opening ceremonies so I took a look for a literal minute. Turns out it was exactly what I'd envisioned.... a gazillion chinese doing exactly the same thing at the same time....whoop dee doo, that's never been done before....<g>
