Whats happening in Georgia is absolutely no surprise to me. You cannot give a nation of a few million who border on a regional superpower false hope. Pushing Nato to Russias border was damn stupid policy. Folks on the Bears borders need to take that into account when formulating their foreign policy. Folks tell me that Georgia expected US to intervene in some way. Now the dissolution of the friendship and the charges will begin. Ukraine needs to study this closely because they are not immune. Georgia is to Russia as Cuba is to the US. If the superpower gets pissed enough, there is nothing other nations can do. Where are the Euros? What sanctions could you put in place for the folks who supply you with gas and oil? I would call pushing Nato to the russian border and giving false hope to the gullible Georgians reckless policy. I have been off SI for the weekend and i am curious if anyone on the right or the left sees it as i do.
