This possibility has me wondering. Suppose it is found at the eleventh hour that one or the other candidate is NOT eligible for the office through lack of the requisite citizenship.

What then?

1. We go ahead as if nothing had happened?
2. We start the primary season all over again? Who becomes president in the interim?
3. The ineligible candidate is removed from the election which then goes to his opponent?
4. Duel with pistols?

What? Does our constitution handle such a thing?

Second question: Why would a party let it go so far without some kind of proof?
