Y2K Newsgroup Alert: Oil Company

A friend of mine works for a large oil company based out of Texas (name withheld per his request). Two weekends ago, they attempted to install a y2k fix for their systems worldwide. Everybody came back Monday to find all systems DOA. Company had literally stopped. Took them a couple of days to bring up old system. Things are still screwed up. He said at least they're trying to fix it. Much effort spent on damage control to outside world because stock is publicly traded.

From an email which was sent to me.

FYI:I will post newsgroup messages which are emailed to me without references. However, I do keep this information on file.
