Moonray, Most-of-thread<G>

My wife and I are looking to upgrade to a new PC. I'm stale when it comes to these things...been out of the desktop market now for 2 years.

1)What the heck does Pentium II give me (besides a $400 premium over the equivalent MHz MMX capable Prentium Pro)?

2)Is "SCSI-whatever-the-newest-rev" a big performance increase over EIDE drives? We are not really concerned about more than 2 drives, or alot of space. SCSI carries a premium (a big one) over that of standard MAG drives and CD drives.

3)I want graphics. Any help in this area as far as the graphics cards are concerned would be appreciated. My monitor will be a 1280x1024 minimum, 17" (viewable) minimum. Would like to get 1600x1280...maybe...if I can talk the wife into the extra cost. Does 1600x1280 really give you alot more realestate for charts, scrolling quote windows, and other traders' tools to make it worth the extra investment?

Thanks.

PS:...in keeping the thread on topic, I promise to use X2 and 3COM NICs in my PC...this is a no-brainer<G>. I've already bought and paid for those.
