Brian, Thanx for your reply. I am still wondering though if MS (as per Gottfried's post: AMAT: MONTGOMERY SEC. increased estimate for quarter ending 10/97 from $0.46 to $0.91 on 10/15/97) raised their earnings' estimate from $0.23 to $0.46. Making allowance for the obvious typo! If MS doubled their estimate just two days before Robertson Stephen's downgrade, then it is quite obvious that the past few sessions have been another lesson in Market Manipulation 101.
