Maurice, I need a break from this too. Three children here. Jesus was only "cut off at the pass", seemingly, for three days. And it was something he intended to happen. That's why he was, as scripture says, "silent as a lamb to the slaughter." He didn't want to stop it from happening, which he could easily have done by speaking a few words. As the guards who were once sent to arrest Jesus said, when they were asked why they came back without Jesus: (paraphrasing because a thunderstorm is threatening to cause a power interruption) "We've never heard any man speak like this before!"
