emichael, Thanks for the post. One paragraph certainly caught my attention:

Rumors that SyQuest will unveil a new version of its flagship SyJet removable cartridge with 1 gigabyte in storage capacity next month... <snip> ...The new drive is expected to sell for about $299 - or $100 less than Iomega's similarly positioned and popular Jaz removable storage product.

Previous references had the drive priced at $199, not $299. In addition, there was no mention of the most sensational feature of the drive, the price of the cartridges. Selling 3GB of media for $99 is what makes the rumored SparQ a potential "killer" product. It seems odd to have left this point out of the article.
