Elmo - my predictions are that if no serious action will be taken against Russia NOW - Russian troops will enter Tbilisi and execute all the ministers of the elected Georgian Government including their PM. Putin already made the comparison between him and Saddam Hussein who killed "few Kurdish people" and because of that sentenced to death implying compared to the "massacre" ordered by Georgians who are liable to much serious crimes than Saddam or Milosevic in Serbia etc. The comparisons are completely out of context but the point Putin want to make is that he will do what he sees fit in what Putin decides as HIS area of influence etc. Next they will install a puppet regime in Georgia and will charge huge transit fees for everything passing trough this corridor. It will also not surprise me if the Russian will hunt down any Georgian that was for integration into NATO or alliance with the West - and murder those innocents - all in a Stalin type of conduct The only way to stop this is for EU to act by asking NATO to land troops in Tbilisi and other Georgian towns, as Russian troop already entered Poti and oil terminal port on the Black Sea. NATO in Georgia will stop Russia in their tracks and they will retreat as the Russian Army does not has the power to confront NATO More interesting is the fall in the price of oil when over 1% of world production is off limits with the danger of more to come Unfortunate the situation may also affect my business in the region (Ukraine Azerbaijan) - I am sure that people now in that region will avoid dealing with US citizen out of fear and as mistrust and feeling of betrayal - to many countries in EU and N. America acted very foolishly to stop the Russian in their tracks. The conflict simmers since April 2008 and Russian made many provocations which justified an attack by Georgia - even on the 6th or 7th of August they killed 6 or 7 Georgian soldier - so Georgia was reacting not initiating
