BB,

"That has changed, the reason is AMD and CYRX, which actually make a better MPU's than Intel (x86) and can charge lower prices because they
don't have the huge overhead expenses of running such an expensive
organization."

here I must disagree... Show me a CPU by either AMD or CYRX which is better than the Intel PII-300... or even the PII-233 for that matter. AMD's K6 compares pretty much to the 233MMX from Intel and for any serious calculations involving floating point, the AMD K6 is basically inadequate when compared to Intel's chips. Perhaps the average user doesn't need the power of the PII at this moment, but that will soon change (I recall when I thought my trusty ol 486 DX33 in 1992 was all I'd ever need....) But saying that AMD and CYRX make "better" chips than INTEL is a stretch. If it were indeed the case, you would see AMd and CYRX command a premium for the equivalent INTC chip and what we witness of course is the opposite.

Regards,

Darin
