BB, whether Intel V AMD V Cyrix becomes a commoditization arguement, the outlook for AMAT is bright. commoditization means cost control. in semi vocabulary = efficiency, yield, more for less (economy of scale) 0.35um, 0.25um, 0.20 um, 0.18 um, 0.12 um, 0.10 um, and 0.08um. Copper metallization. (any more?) the problem will be the increase in complexity and development of process recipes to deal with the huge technical challenges. Semi process engineers will be a HOT commodity. too bad i'm only a layman. ever see the commercial with 2 auto mechanics pounding on a car engine? then the flashback to when they were kids putting a square peg into a round hole.
