Europe would drag it's feet until Russian tanks are at their front doors...fortunately Sarkozy is more cooperative than France was on Iraq. GW has tasked Sarkozy with brokering the deal between Russian & Georgia. Yes, it would be great if Europe would jump in and take control of the situation, but when that didn't happen, Russia was prepared to stamp out freedom in Georgia. Pres Bush took the middle ground without direct confrontation with Russia. His is the type of timely, effective response to aggression that a Democrat Pres never manages to muster.
