Oh, I agree with his statement. The real problem is that our Republican leaders are hoping that if they get a drilling bill approved, that will release them from responsibility to do anything else. So in that sense, it's a cynical gambit on their part.

The Democrat approach has been to stall and delay the drilling proposal. My approach would be different if I had any say. I'd say let's drill and that will prove once and for all that we can't drill our way out of this problem.

I'm all for removing every excuse left on the books, so that we can get all of our leaders to agree on a real and long term solution to our energy needs and that is going to have to include serious investment in alternative energy and conservation efforts.
