Ukraine's fertile fallow land - which indeed is plentiful - will tempt Vlad RasPutin mightily.

Imagine controlling Georgia and the pipelines as well as potentially up to 20% of the world's grain production.

People forget that Ukraine is enormous, about twice the size of Germany.

Can anyone imagine a mafiothugocracy with that kind of control over vast amounts of natural resources, all for the benefit of a few oligarchs?

I'd be very nervous if I were Ukraine.

Didn't its president get poisoned, too? Dioxin, not polonium, so he survived, if I recall correctly. Perhaps it was a simple warning.
