It's difficult for some to believe that some people are introverted while others are extroverted, yet it's both true and observable.

The same is true of the other three traits Jung used to describe different personality types.

Often people themselves have less perspective on themselves than their friends, family and co-workers do, but the differences are quite pronounced, tend to be very fixed over a person's lifetime and are highly predictive of the career a person eventually pursues.

A construct which is strongly predictive is a good model of reality. The sixteen Jungian personality types used by the Meyers-Briggs test is such a construct.
