In ten years, it will be affordable for the average reasonably well off suburban teenager to film his own short using digital media, do off line editing at home with a low end Avid, place it on the Internet for others to download and view, charging a dollar a download. The future of media is more than 500 channels on cable, it's the total democratization of filmmaking. Avid will benefit from this.
