Compaq's news this last week was wonderful. Earnings to die for, beginning to give a dividendlike a true blue chip company. Wow. And guess what. I just found out from "my" realtor, that land I have had for sale for 3 years may sell- people have made a ridiculous offer and I have countered with a less ridiculous but still ridiculous counter which they will probably accept. I will lose $5000 but will no longer have the original downpayment held hostage plus no more of that rotten property tax. (Why do we have to pay property on bare land, for God's sake?). Anyway I will have $15,000 to invest so come on market crash for another few weeks until escrow closes. Then should I just buy more compaq (I only have 250 shares) or just look for the next intel? Wow, James, you will have 2000 shares soon!!!!! And compaq will be back to 79 by years end and 100 right before it splits. (If it will be a few months into the year before the split.) Best wishes.
