PBS ombud blasts "NewsHour" for ignoring Edwards scandal By Jim Romenesko PBS.org "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" didn't touch the John Edwards scandal even after he admitted the affair. Why? "It struck us as a problem for him and his family, not the American public," says executive producer Linda Winslow. Ombud Michael Getler says "the decision not to report the Edwards confirmation story struck me as both patronizing to people who depend on PBS for news, and journalistically mind-boggling."
