We left them alone because the russians were defeated...that was the goal...we didn't give a shit about afghani...there's nothing there but dust anyway...until they turned on us that is. This was a question of picking one's poison...

No probably not...they'll be overrun by russians instead, they'll have their country destroyed and set back half a century...all over a province that thinks it wants to be part of russia instead of georgia. I wonder what we'd do if northern mexico had a majority of american civilians and decided to split off from mexico and mexico sent in the army to stop it. The Baha may some day end up that way, considering the american and canadian retirement communities that are springing up along the coast of the sea or cortez.
