The test you refer to about suspending a shaft and striking it with a golf ball is called the cannonball test. Results can vary depending on which method is used. Some cannonball tests have the grip portion of the shaft held rigid while a golf ball is fired at the clubhead attached to the shaft being tested. Some tests are done with the grip portion of shaft held in a relaxed mode-similar to holding it with one's hands. The golf ball is fired at the club head at speeds up to 125 mph.The ball can be aimed at any portion of the club face-the heal or portion closest to the shaft on the club face exerts the most damaging force to the golf shaft.Quadrax shafts have passed these tests with ease back in the fall of last year. The shafts were tested independently and by TM,Callaway and FM precision, along with Aldila. The shafts had no problem in these tests. The problems that Quadrax is having with shafts is the same one that all composite manufactures are having-consistancy with the shafts for irons.TM is paying for the R&D work-if they don't get what they want-quadrax still gains from all the research. The price of the stock is at the bottom-TM deal will make it move 3x to 4x min.without deal plan B.After reading Dave's e-mail it was obvious that Mike Dorf may have a gag rule but his friends and family sure don't. Just wonder why all this sour grape talk after they were fired but no discourse when they were with Quadrax.By the way,if one wonders why Callaway has not used Quadrax shafts.Just ask Aldila why Callaway went elsewhere to get the majority of shafts they use in their clubs. Not because of performance but for price.Quadrax cannot produce a shaft for $6 and make a profit.
