EU is peaceful because it's prosperous. Not because of UN or EU. Europe was a bunch of warring countries each one trying to rob the other during the time scarcity was the norm.

I don’t expect Europe to return to that warring stage even though it will become relatively poor in the next decades. That because it is out of the demographic window with a much older population, which will see that still have a lot to lose if engaging in conflicts. In short: Look to Sweden and Japan for the shape of things to come to Europe.

I see Russia becoming much less warlike because of its dependence on trade since it is getting affluent selling oil and need to import.
Russia can do whatever they want in the export side. But it needs to import food.

It will slow dawn into the Russian leadership that they are an old country with less appetite to foreign adventures.
