When corporations bot the pcs the first time they bot allot of dif models....sales and the next cheapest thing of the market.
now they are retooling and getting all cpq's or all dells or a combination of both.
and all ibm or hps.
they don't want a bunch of dif kinds.
So, it's these standardization on compnaies that has really helped cpq and dell.

Yes, the bottleneck in your pc has been the modem, but there is one more bottleneck.
your motherboard caches at 66 mhz, this is a slow speed compared to a cpu speed of 200 mhz. And a video card not high powered enough so it doesn't paint quick enough.
By, the way, opening apps is not the real killer at work.
you can put a bunch in your start up.
open them up and leave them open all day.
I'm talking about ERP transaction speeds and transaction speeds of your other systems, like your satelite systems that interface with ERP.

So, what you left out of that office config is the graphics accelerator card. But, more important than that is the way all the applications are written to get real work done.
Word processing isn't real work <ggg>
