[Projections]

While I appreciate the time you took to calculate estimated earnings for the combined Westell-Amati, my point was and still is that it's difficult to project forward earnings without knowing how many lines are likely to be deployed.

Every analyst I've spoken with has used the contracts in hand for their projections and without numbers from GTE, BT, BC, and BA, what benefit is there to rehashing the numbers from Zacks? Besides those I've listed, Kevin Slocum of Soundview didn't even calculate Siemens numbers and with BCTEL he used those for this year only.

If Gary Seamans said he was comfortable with analysts's estimates, I submit that was the safest answer he could have given considering the fact none of these announcements have been made.

Until contracts are awarded and the results made public, I wouldn't expect any of the analysts to change their estimates.

Those who've followed the Westell-Amati story for over a year know GTE has serious plans for ramping up in '98 and full deployment in '99 and until those numbers are factored in, most of us consider the deflated stock to be a buying opportunity.

I'm expecting some serious analyst coverage after the November meeting at GTE, so until then I'll ignore Zack's outdated numbers.

Cheers!

Pat
