Vet, it has nothing to do with what currency oil is priced in. The key point is the balance of trade issue. While expected moves in interest rate differentials are the top factor, balance of trade is likely a factor. Given that the US imports much of its oil, the amount foreigners have to finance should on balance drop with falling oil prices.
