That is going to be the real fun of it all. We dump the Sunnis and it is back to where it was. We dump the Shia and, well, there goes any hope of the politics settling down.

If these guys are so dumb that they restart their civil war in earnest before we are gone then we are stuck. You are right "should have announced victory and come home".
