Mephisto, I have never actually heard of putting a piece of stained glass between two other pieces of glass in a window. Have you seen one like this??
There are several things to consider when you are planning to design a window. First, do you own your house? Are you sure you are going to stay there until you die, and then will the house to close relatives who will enjoy the stained glass?? The reason I am asking this question is that unless you are permanently attached to the house, you may not want to actually inset the glass piece into the window at all. And if you do decide to do that, most windows have clear glass to the outside, protecting the stained glass design from weather, but nothing covering it on the inside, since the glass is usually very pretty and has texture that you would want to enjoy.
An option, obviously, is to make a design that is slightly smaller than the window, and then have it framed and dangle it from the top of the window with wires, so that you have a beautiful piece of art you can take with you.
Where is the window? What kind of design are you thinking about??
P.S. Yes, the eight-foot go-go girls are a hoot. Most men have vivid imaginations!!! If they were little boys, we might say their eyes were bigger than their stomachs. Ha ha, I'm sure you get the idea!! < : ) |
