John -- in my view, anybody who thinks that a US dollar will buy them more in five years time than it will today is an idiot with no understanding of the sort of trouble we are in. We are in the early stages of a US dollar crisis born of debts that we cannot repay -- debts that will be repudiated by the time tested method of all countries with out-of-control current account and government deficits financed by foreign capital -- we will repudiate our debts via inflation. There is absolutely no deflation in our future -- none. For those who try to squirm around this stark reality by saying that inflation has nothing to do with prices I say this: it is BS -- pure BS -- to say that inflation is not about prices. For those of us who hold US dollars the future of prices is clear -- they are going up. That is inflation.
