Mike thank for the url - it should be interesting. A while back (maybe a year or so ago) we have talked that the dummest thing intel can do is to start price war this year. Niether amd nor cyrx would be able to capture enough of market share for intel to warry yet the price cuts would cut into intel's profits. Now Intel did manage hurt profit of cyrx and amd but as a result intel is not meeting earnings expectations for the 3rd quarter in row and 4th is coming up as well as low asp in 98. As a result of price war we have a new growing sub-1000 segment which is hitting intel hard. Now intel is trying to expend it's non-cpu pc business. The second dummest move by intel since OEMs would not aprove of that. Andy turned out to be less than an average CEO when faced with competition. Regards -Albert
