Keith, peak oil is not 'far fetched', it is a simple geological fact that is being proven over and over again as each large field goes into decline. Oil sands, shale oil and all other unconventional oil deposits are huge in the world BUT they simply cannot be extracted easily, cheaply, quickly or in mass. Peak oil is more about production rates than reserve quantity.
