Jon, Re: Whisper numbers IMO, "whisper" numbers are bogus numbers made up to shake out weak hands. All else equal (i.e. if the market isn't tanking anyways), they have little effect on the stock price except for a couple trading days. In the past when INTC missed these so called "whisper" numbers, the stocks sold off for a couple days and then proceeded to immediately rally significantly once the suckers were gone. Regardless, when whisper numbers are circulating and they are higher than the official estimates then the stock rallies before earnings. Like you said this hasn't happened here. It seems like the street is expected much at all based on the pre-announcement trading. FF
