You probably meant a billion.

Climate change happens. It has happened without man and it is happening with man. People starve not because we can't grow enough food in the world, but because that food can't be distributed universally. Eric already gave you a link describing the impact biofuels is having on the world food supply, but that just means more crops that could have gone toward feeding people is instead going toward running our engines.

Mankind is highly adaptable, the most adaptive species on Earth. We can terraform, irrigate, and feed everyone on Earth five times over with the land and the technology we have. That isn't a problem.

I don't believe global warming is going to turn Earth into Mars, but that fear is being spread by politicians like Nobel Peace Prize laureate Al Gore, who blames tsunamis on global warming. Oh please.
