I've been using Autodesk product since 1983.
With R13, ADSk had to make patchs like c1,c2,c3 & C4 in order to
fix(upgrade?) original R13. I guess that hurts ADSK in some way.

Even though the transition to Window & window NT is the inevitable step to increase its capability, it bothers current users who are used to play with DOS system. Different working environment, upgrading cost in software & hardware, re-educate current users are some of the main problems.

I know there are some other users still playing with R11 & R12.

IMHO, ADSK should find the way to encourage current users as same as
new comers to adapt this new environment. Other then that, there
would be stagnant situation for the time being.

However, I also know many users of ADSK products agree the transition
is necessary to enhance its functional capability.

So, let's see how good ADSK marketing strategy is!

I also agree ADSK is so cheap these days. Good opportunity to jump in,
I guess.

Surely, this is my own opinion and you must have yoours.

Best regards,
