Taliban kill 10 French troops, raid US base Aug 19 04:22 PM US/Eastern By AMIR SHAH Associated Press Writer SUROBI, Afghanistan (AP) - Insurgents ambushed a group of elite French soldiers as they climbed a mountain pass, killing 10 troops in a militant stronghold outside the capital. In a separate coordinated attack, a team of suicide bombers tried unsuccessfully to storm a U.S. base near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. French paratroopers and a Foreign Legion soldier were among the dead Monday—the biggest single combat loss for international forces in Afghanistan in more than three years. ---- This is what happens if one doesn't finish the job that he had started. Almost 7 YEARS after invading Afghanistan, we have the Taliban ambushing soldiers, attacking their bases and so on. Karzai is little more than the mayor of Kabul now (And to keep him company, there is Saakashvili, the new mayor of Tbilisi! ;-) ) Too bad the French under Sarkozy's leadership, don't have the guts to leave Afghanistan and hand over the headache to the Dumbyasshole neocons. The result of that cowardice? Ten grieving French families :-((
