Thoughts while watching the Olympics...

1. Notice how many athletes attend American colleges? Especially swimmers and track and field athletes. This begs the question; are foreign athletes given scholarship to American colleges where they then compete against American athletes at the Olympics?

2. Non-objective judging events are horrible. Boxing is the worst, followed by gymnastics, diving. I haven't seen synchronized swimming, so it probably suffers from the same problems.

3. Why do Americans do so poorly at Weight-lifting, when we have so many people lifting in weight rooms across the country?

4. The questions asked by the interviewers right after an athlete finishes are terrible. No excitement and congratulations for their effort, it's all about some weird drama the interviewer thinks is going on.

5. Michael Phelps was awesome, as was the rest of our swimmers. So were our Girl Gymnasts, basketball team, softball team, vollyball team and water polo team.

6. No way those Chinese girl gymnasts were 16. And anyone with half-a-brain could see it.

7. Forgot the most important thing; we have some wonderfully talented young athletes with great attitudes toward the country. Nothing wrong with this new generation of kids's that's for sure. Same kind of young adults serve in the armed services.

We're fortunate indeed.
