I have long had an idea... You to pull into a "filling" station, pull out your dieing batteries and plug in a fresh pack from the station's charging rack and be back on the road in 10 minutes or less. Your idea is getting closer to reality --- at least in Israel, Denmark, and Hawaii: When customers couldn't wait to "fill up," they'd go to battery exchange stations where they would pull into car-wash-like sheds, and in a few minutes, a hydraulic lift would swap the depleted battery with a fresh one. wired.com .:.
