Besides the BRIC nations, Goldman Sachs has suggested a group of the next 11 developing countries (N-11) will reach two-thirds the size of the G7 by 2050. The N-11 includes Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, South Korea, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Turkey and Vietnam.
The incremental demand from the N-11 could conceivably overtake the G7 by 2050, so their growth contribution will rise faster, said Goldman Sachs. Of the N-11, only Mexico and Indonesia have the potential to rival all but the US of the G7, but Nigeria, South Korea, Turkey and Vietnam might all overtake some of the current G7 nations.
