EMTA is the latest product that require scalable design. What with edgeQam going 1024 channels and scalable carrier frequencies. Scanner for channel bonding of subcarriers with 6/8 mhz division. The PBX capability of Docsis 3.0/4.0 is also scalable. Built in data compression of 5 layer(frontal projection files superimposed layout engine) Mpeg4/h.264-AVC can be compounded by video braille. This will be top of the line set-top box for the next ten years for high power users. Lower price points may bring Mpeg2/DTV/sdTV/hdTV/voip/broadband in simpler set-top boxes for the masses desiring more programming channels. Parallel processing of multichannel information gathering is for businesses and personal individual power users. Most of the cable customers today are TV watchers/emailer/mobilephone users not business minded. Set-top box for TV watching and remote for smartphone is ideal.
