{BC Tel}

Hi Pat,

I have been hounding BC Tel for roll-out information -- but have been unlucky. I know the roll-out is about to begin in November, but I haven't been able to pin-point the date the service will be available in my area. Costs will be $64.95 a month with a $100 installation charge. You will be required to buy your own (Compatible) ethernet card.

The dilemma lies in the fact that my neighbourhood is now ready with cable modem services from Rogers Cablesystems. My current ISP is restricting my access to the Internet during peak hours. Cable access is $55 a month with a $50 installation charge - ethernet card is supplied.

Since BC Tel has been unwilling to share dates with me, I asked them this question...

I am willing to wait until the end of the year for ADSL services,but I have set up an appointment with Rogers to install a cable modem on October 25th, do I have any reason to cancel this appointment?

I know you have also been in contact with them, do you have any more information than I do?

I guess either way... we will get our phone line back soon. I will let you know what BC Tel's response is - should they respond in short order. Otherwise, I will commit to cable for a year or so, and revisit ADSL at that time.

Mark
