You're right, Mike. It makes no sense to me either, nor I'll bet, to any of the thinking and income producing Americans. Our own talented kids should come first!

In fact, our State tax-supported Universities, like the UofW, should not have spots given first to others who are not residents of the State, IMO. If the UofW was a private school, paid for by private tuition funds, that would be a different matter. Those schools can do as they wish. But TaxPayer supported public Universities should not give scholarships to other than State kids first.

There is something very wrong with what we do, IMO.

Years ago, when Jim Owens was Football Coach, there was an article in the ST showing the Top 10 State Supported Salaries ... ALL 10 were from the UofW professor list, with the one exception ....Jim Owens, who was about #7 or so on the list.....
