By David Gergen / CNN Senior Political Analyst I am not trusting Gergen here. He's on AC 360 all the time and from the beginning, his mantra has been Clinton as VP. With this move up by McCain, his chanting has grown louder. Political campaigns are like stocks...they ebb and flow and are rarely static. It does not surprise me that Obama fortunes right here are drifting........its the dead of summer, he's been on vacation and McCain is looking stronger than he has for quite some time. This too will pass. We are trying to elect a black man to the presidency. That's a huge endeavor. No one said it would be easy no matter who his vice president is.
