Paul; Eventually the most docile board will turn, and one fine day he may find that they voted with wallets and Compaq etc? is going to run it from now on. It looks like they have good ideas and had they been run properly for the past 10 years might have been far ahead instead of the same size for those years(more or less)
If they had a deep pockets partner and new management that would spend smart and not wpend gloriously they would gain on Intel. All things considered they have donw ell to date. Same with Cyrix. I see tham as an intelligent well run company that has come a long way uphill against Intel.
True the market might well be brittle and end up as splinters. All that matters is that it runs Gatescode. Intel might no longer be needed to make Wintel, we are entering the W era.
