I've understood it for a while. The point, which you are trying to obscure with your fan dance, is that Reed was hand in glove with Abramoff. It is pretty obvious that McCain was trying to limit the damage to the Republicans when he headed his investigation. Reed was never even questioned, despite working as close to Abramoff as anyone.

And now Reed is working for McCain. For someone who is supposed to be against lobbyists, and was so "outraged" by Abramoff, to take on someone who is so closely linked to him is so typical. After all, most of the ones running his campaign are ex-lobbyists. He did manage to ditch the active lobbyists a few months ago...
