Citicorp Attacks Telecoms Firms for Millennium Mess (10/16/97)
Citicorp said suppliers had FAILED to give accurate information on whether their products would be year 2000 ready.

It said suppliers had:
- No common millennium compliance definition
- No consistent way of achieving compliance
- Started late to achieve compliance
- Provided nebulous, misleading and incorrect information
- Not viewed date change fixes as a "maintenance patch", but instead embedded in ...new Releases which were subject to development schedule delays and additional ...costs
- Been unaware of the date bug issues in bought-in components

US banking giant Citicorp has slammed telecommunications suppliers for holding up its drive to be year 2000-compliant by the end of 1998.
