You have to be your own advocate and watchdog with doctors.

At least that's been my experience.

I don't understand why doctors wait until they're in the examination room with you to even review your file. And half the time the don't immediately tumble to the salient aspects.

I've dealt with many docs as my own experts and deposed many as adverse experts during my career. As a consequence, I'm a pretty savvy consumer.

All I know is that you have to keep on top of your own case.

I've had clients tell me that I know their lives and stories better than they do---and that's the truth.

I would be a lot more comfortable with docs who do the same for me<g>
